Singapore's public transport is plentiful and varied. You have the option of using metered taxis, the MRT subway system or the convenient bus services.

For a slice of the unique multi-racial element of this cosmopolitan city, visit Chinatown, Little India and Geylang Serai. Thereafter, move down to Orchard Road to see the trendiest locals shopping and hanging out. Visit the numerous shopping malls along this street and shop till you drop with the vast range of merchandise available.
Singapore food reflects the very best of the country's multicultural island. Pepper crab is a Singapore specialty and can be eaten at any good seafood restaurant, with many congregating at East Coast Park. For local delicacies, head down to any of the hawker centres, where a matchless selection of great inexpensive local food can be found. Whet your appetite with Hainanese Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow, Rojak, Laksa and a variety of Malay and Indian cuisine.
